Clomid and no follicle scans?

Question

So my Dr has put me on clomid for the next 6 cycles. I have been on clomid before and the only thing he checked was my progesterone on cd21. I did ovulate with clomid (painfully). My question though is now that it will be 6 months consecutively (if I do not conceive) should I be having a follicle scan regularly to make sure they are growing or not growing too much?  Thanks

I had a scan with 3 cycles and declined it on the last 3. The results were the same regardless. I didn't feel it was worth the $400 price tag. I felt perfectly fine not having it, but I am sure some people feel it is totally required. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I never have had scans while taking clomid. Just the 21 day progesterone

You really shouldn’t take Clomid for that many consecutive months, at least that’s what my doctor told me.

You don’t have to get scans/blood tests, but it’s better if you do. That way they can tell if the medication is working. I didn’t have any monitoring after the second month on letrozole and must’ve had too many follicles as I ended up having twins. My doctor said I’d be monitored next time.
