Full time job and baby

Tori

Soo my LO will be 6 months in a few days and I’ve basically been home with him since he was born. I’ve only worked 1-2 shifts a week that are 4 hours long. I’m about to start a call center job from home so his grandma is going to have to watch him so I can have some quiet. It’s going to be a 9-5 job and I feel like he’s not going to need me as much or want to see me as much if I start this job 😭😭 I’m tempted to not even take the job just for this reason. Somebody tell me they work full time and baby still wants you 😭

Yes! I work 8a-5p every day at the office (since 12 weeks old) and we have a great nanny at home with baby. My husband takes over at 5pm until I get home around 530-6p… our daughter who is 5 months LIGHTS UP and kicks her feet and smiles when I get home! Our nanny even said recently that she thinks during the day baby is fussy and just wants mommy. I watch her all day during the weekends to spend lots of time with her and she is NEVER fussy for me. It’s an instinctual thing: babies want their mommies. My husband is even a bit jealous lately…

i work 11 hours, 5 times a week. THANKFULLY my mother in law watches him and lives 2 minutes away from my job. I make sure that i take my lunch break during his afternoon purée feeding so that I**** can be the ONE that gives it to him and let me tell u… he gets so so sooo excited to see me 🥺 and when i get out of work and pick him up, all he does is smile and want me to grab him 😭😭😭 so trust me you’ll be fine!❤️

I work full time from home and have for several years. I have a two year old also. I love it. I get to be a more present mother than a lot of moms who have to work outside the home and I can also have adult conversations and a life outside of being a mom. It helps me to really focus and be a great mom during my time with them. My kiddos are both obsessed with me still lol. I take a ton of breaks and hang out with them. No one can replace you. You’ll know your kid better than any caregiver.

I was in the same boat! I teach and just started for the year this past week. I was worried about the same things but it’s great to get a little time to myself and then come home to a baby that smiles so big when she sees me again after work.
