Midwife or doctor ?

I'm not sure whether. To chose a midwife or doctor.. What are u all doing and why?

I started seeing an ob but am going to a consultation with a midwife in a couple of weeks. My ob doesn't even let me choose which hospital I give birth at (or at home), and I get the feeling I wouldn't have much say in other aspects of my birth plan. I want to feel empowered before and during my birth, not overpowered.

I go to a practice that has both midwives and OBs. So far. I have only seen midwives (2 different ones) but I'm seeing an OB for my 20 week ultrasound. It's the practice's policy to rotate practitioners that way you have a familiar face in the delivery room no matter who is on call when you go into labor.

I have a midwife who works with an OB. I go to the midwife for monthly check ups and the OB for ultrasounds. I'm hoping for a natural labor and home birth, but if that option does not work, I will deliver with the OB and midwife present.

Midwife, she works under an ob but I have never met him. Even in my other pregnancy. I will be delivering in a hospital.
