I am a first year teacher, and according to my contract I haven’t worked with my school district long enough to be eligible for any type of maternity leave. I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant, and starting to wonder what am I going to do. I am going to try to work up until the day I deliver. But I am not sure about what to do regarding after I have the baby. I am planning on going back to work the following week, as I can use my 5 sick days to have at least a week off. Is a week enough time to resume regular work responsibilities? I am a physical education teacher by the way.
