Subchorionic Hematoma: have you experienced this? Please tell me about your experiences and the bleeding that accompanied this

I was diagnosed with SCH and had a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday. Today I am bleeding. Very nervous.

They are super common. Pretty much everyone has one but it resolves before their first ultrasound. It’s caused by the baby implanting into your uterus. Only really big ones are a cause for concern. Small ones are normal and may cause a small amount of bleeding

I was IVF so they're slightly more common. Mine was there at my 7w4d ultrasound, after I had two small instances of bleeding a few days apart, lightly for about 2 hours each. She warned me not to be surprised if I bled again. I had some brown blood a few days after. When I went for my last scan at the fertility clinic, 9w4d, she couldn't find it again, so our best guess is it already resolved.

The bleeding could be because of the vaginal scan- your cervix is VERY sensitive right now. I have an SCH- very small but butted right up to the gestational sac. Doc put me on pelvic rest until 12 weeks and told me to drink a TON of water to help schleff it off or encourage reabsorbsion. It’s basically a blood blister on your uterine lining from where baby burrowed into your lining or where your placenta started to attach then pulled away a little bit. It COULD increase your chance of m/c by like 1%, depending on size and location. I know women that had some the size of golf balls and gushed blood and they have healthy toddlers now.
