Truth be told…has this ever happen to you?

Question

Have you ever had a guy your were dating or a S/O that left for whatever reason (commitment issues, arguments, fell out of love, etc etc) come back? 
If so, how did that work out for you? What were the reasons it ended and the reason you gave it a second go or not? I’d love to hear your stories.

I left and came back. But we were young. We had a lot to learn in the interim. We both grew and changed over the years and when we were ready, ended up back together. I have zero regrets about it.

So I was the one that left and came back. Dozens of times. I had a shit ton of issues and didn't realize it until I tried to keep the father of my children from seeing them. I was abusive AF to him and was verbally abusive to my kids that were both under the age of 3 at that time. He took custody and I felt defeated so I started therapy. That's when I realized I was shit human being and needed to change completely. I've since been working on myself and see my therapist twice weekly and our couples therapist once every two weeks. It's a life long process because I can't change the thoughts I have but I can change the way I react to them. I have slip ups here and there when I'm overwhelmed but I always own it and apologize and work harder to regain the trust from my family. So, basically, if they aren't in some sort of outside help(counseling, therapy etc) and want back into your life, don't let it happen. They need to prove through actions, and longer than a session or a dozen, they need at least a year under their belt, to prove that they're actively changing

If I had someone leave me.. why would I want them to come back? Especially if it was due to commitment issues or anything along those lines.
I’d rather wait till I find someone who would never want to leave my side.

Yes. We mutually split because our careers were taking us both in different directions. 11 months later, I had another change in my job that allowed us to continue our relationship, and we got back together. We’ve been back together for 6 years, married 3, and have a 2 year old child.

My bf always tried to break up with me over commitment issues in the beginning. We’d both be miserably depressed and one day he finally just accepted he loved me he stopped pushing me away and we’ve been inseparable since.

Nope and I wouldn’t. If someone had commitment issues or left for whatever reason, they don’t deserve to come back just because they don’t like what else is out there. I’m not going to be someone’s second choice or backup option.

Nope. They had their shot the 1st time. If I wasn't good enough for them at that point, I sure as hell ain't lowering my standards to give them a second shot. Be with someone who can't see themselves without you. That's what I was always taught.
