My vaccine experience (Moderna)

J

After going back and forth about the vaccine for a long time I decided to get it last week. (9/8/21)

Since the start of the pandemic I’ve remained healthy, and never even been swabbed for covid! But, seeing all the young people getting sick was scaring me. Some people have no symptoms and some are on ventilators, so I didn’t want to take my chances.

4 days after I got the vaccine, I got the typical symptoms of a vaccine reaction- fever, chills, headache, abdominal pain. My symptoms have lasted 4 days so far, and are still lingering. It’s not typical for vaccine reactions to start as late as 4 days after getting it. It’s also not typical for symptoms to last more than 1 day. Nobody can convince me that my symptoms came from anything else. My headaches and stomach cramps are still crippling. I couldn’t get out of bed the first two days because I felt like I was hit by a truck. I woke up at 2:30am one night shaking with chills and 101.2 fever. I am still recovering and had to miss work this week due to the vaccine.

The first time I have ever been swabbed for covid was right after I got these symptoms from the vaccine. Thankfully it was negative, but my symptoms still linger and so I’m out of work for now.

Just putting this information out there because people have a right to know that not everyone just has a sore arm. And I will 100% not be getting my second shot, if I could go back I wouldn’t have gotten this one.
