2nd baby 2nd c-section?

Hi everyone! So I wanted to get your opinion. I am currently 30 weeks and 4 days pregnant with baby boy #2 and I’m going back and forth on whether or not to have a second c-section? With my first baby boy (he is now 2) I was in labor for 23 hours and pushed for almost 2 hours with nothing happening. I ended up having an emergency c-section due to him being sunny side up and my recovery went really well. Now that I’m pregnant again I want to try to have a normal birth but afraid that I’ll end up having another emergency c-section. I’m aiming towards having another c-section just cause I know the recovery but I also wanted to see how everybody else’s recovery went with a second surgery. Hope to hear your recovery story!

I chose to not have an additional csection because i wanted more kids in the future and the more csections you hsve the higher the risk of complications goes up (hemorrhage, placenta previa, placenta accrea, maternal death, etc.). I was also extremely traumatized by my csection experience with my oldest (even though it was a scheduled csection) and didnt want to go through that again. My biggest reason to not have another csection was my toddler. I couldnt imagine 6 weeks of not being able to lift her to change her, carry her to the car, pick her up to snuggle, etc. and for me that was the deciding factor for me going for a vbac. I didnt want to feel guilty for constantly holding my newborn and not being able to give my toddler the same affection

So for me, I just went with a c-section again because I too was afraid of laboring and then needing another c-section. Also with my first I was pushing for 4 hours and was so exhausted. Recovery took so much longer. With my second, I went into labor first, but I had my c-section when I got to the hospital. So much better for me to go the c-section route. I was too scared of something going wrong again and needing a c-section again. Everything did go well. Baby was fine, although it was at 34 weeks I had her, because my water broke and went into premature labor. But other than just the prematurity, the c-section went fine and I recovered pretty quickly, physically.

I had a 10cm ovarian cyst AND my first baby was breech so I had a c section. 
I feel comfortable and confident in my choice for another c section. My OB and midwife are both excellent, I trust them. I assume recovery will be a bit more difficult this time just because I’ll have a toddler and newborn.

Pain wise I was more uncomfortable with my 2nd section comparatively speaking but nothing unbearable. But I wasnt as stressed cause I had more of an idea for what to expect. My first was breech and my 2nd was transverse

My repeat c-section was easy and my recovery was fast. My first was an emergency c-section due to preeclampsia and when I mentioned trying a VBAC my sister in law begged me not to because she has seen more than one tragic outcome when the baby died after the mom tried for a VBAC. She’s a nurse so I trust her.
Csection recoveries are generally longer and more painful than vaginal deliveries, but I feel that if it gives my baby even a slightly better chance of survival then it’s 100% worth it.

My first was breech so we did an emergency c section. I got pregnant a year later and my doctor suggested another C-section because they were so close together and I did. My experience wasn't bad. I did another C-section for my 3rd. And now I'm gonna do a 4th one.

I had an emergency c section first time and a vaginal birth 2 years later with my second. I preferred the vaginal delivery especially with a toddler to look after My recovery with the c section sucked !

Definitely c-sec! The drugs are the same recovery slightly slower but you’re in full control of the situation. Trying to go natural w/#1 I almost lost my life, #2 was planned c-sec . I did my hair /nails strolled to the hospital @7am was breastfeeding my baby by 9:30am:) a cpl days in the hospital and 1 (pretty hard week) @ home that was it! No drama!!! Go for CS! Good luck 💗
