PCOS?
Hi everyone, I have always been on the verge of longer cycles with most of my cycles being anywhere between 28-36 days, but most being mid-30s. I first went to the gyno about this years ago after a couple of my cycles being 40 days long. At the time i was told that it was probably due to factors like stress because the majority of my cycles were still hitting in the 28-35 day range, which is considered normal. I didn’t think anything of it and my periods soon became regular again and normal in length. I’ve noticed I will sometimes have cycles in that are 40 days or longer when I’m stressed. However, lately my periods have gotten super irregular and longer. The last 5 months alone have been 39 days, 33 days, 43 days, 36 days, and 57 days. A friend of mine is concerned that I may have PCOS as her periods did very similar things prior to getting a diagnosis. After I had talked to my gyno years ago, I didn’t really pay as much attention to my cycle lengths. Now, I’m married and trying to get pregnant. I’ve looked back at my cycles and noticed how irregular they have become, which I think will make tracking ovulation very difficult. Should I be concerned about this and make an appt to see my gyno?
