Would we be dead?

I had an emergency c-section with my first baby due to preeclampsia and he got stuck so I couldn’t push him out. My dr said it was due to a weird/narrow angle of my sacrum? If I didn’t have a c-section, would both me and my baby be dead?

I feel like c-sections happen all the time for different reasons, so does that mean that anyone who requires one would be dead if it were left up to nature? I don’t know why, but I think about this a lot and it really terrifies me. 😢
