Weird smell after birth?

Hey moms! Have any of you experienced a weird smell after giving birth? I’m 2 weeks postpartum and I’m having a weird smell/discharge. It kinda smells like BV? Has anyone experienced this?

Yeah it’s normal. It’s the part that no one wants to tell you about. 🙃 Like it’s taboo to admit your vagina was off smelling while bleeding and shedding after delivering a child and a placenta that was being held captive in your womb for 9 months. It’s normal girl. It goes away after a few weeks.

Lochia has a very distinct smell. It shouldn’t smell like an infection though.

I'd get it checked out if it were me. I'd rather take antibiotics than have sepsis

Totalllyyy normal!!!! I’ve had 6 vaginal births. There can almost be a slightly fishy smell to lochia it’s normal!

If there is a foul odor, absolutely go in as that is likely an infection that needs to be treated right away.
