I go tomorrow for my first checkup, I will be 13 weeks and I am nervous about a pap smear. I’ve read some stories from 500 women in the last year claiming it caused them to miscarry. I’m very caught between what to do.

So, to outweigh the bad things i’ve heard, what do they look for when doing an exam? How does it benefit my baby and keep them healthy? That will make me feel better about the situation. I’m leaning towards doing it but I have that small doubt. What are the risks of not getting one done?
