Baby Blues??

Hi! So….I had my precious baby girl on Tuesday….so she is five days old. Well Thursday is when an onset of sadness came on out of no where. I was not expecting it at all. I just wanted to cry and I couldn’t figure out why? Same thing happened Friday and then Saturday. So I googled it….baby blues….and apparently it’s normal and happens to a lot of new mamas. I read that it’s not necessarily PPD. Has anyone had anything similar?

Baby blues are temporary but pretty much the same as PPD. They can be intertwining

I think it might be caused by your milk coming in

I don’t know a single mama who didn’t go through this. It’s definitely normal in the beginning and you just have to take it a few hours at a time or if necessary, a few minutes at a time. It’s okay to cry and let it out. I can’t tell you how many times I sat bouncing my baby with tears streaming down my face. 
It should let up in a month or two, but if it doesn’t￼, or your thoughts get a little dark, reach out to your OB for support/references ♥️

I did. It got better around 2-2.5 weeks PP.

Days 3-7 are HUGE hormone shift days. Eat a week or so and see if it balances out.
