Use opks to NOT get pregnant?

Has anyone used charting and ovulation tests as a form of “birth control”? I’ve had bad experiences with all of the birth control I’ve tried. The IUD broke inside me, resulting in a pregnancy and miscarriage, the pill is literally tearing up my insides (that sounds dramatic but for 5 days I couldn’t even stand up straight I was in so much pain) so I stopped taking it and the pain went away. So has anyone successfully avoided pregnancy by tracking ovulation? Interested in personal experiences!

Edit to add: I’m already very good at tracking my cycle, I have two kids and both were planned and we didn’t try very long for either (which I know is also just luck) so I have a bbt thermometer from ttc and some expired tests I need to replace lol so this part is not a concern!
