Bleeding at 10 weeks
Had a scary night last night and wanted to share for anyone else who may be in a similar situation. And to also see if anyone else has any insight. I had a very relaxed day with office work and then came home to watch tv. I was walking back in my house after letting my dog out and felt a little wetness, I though I had let out a little bit of urine or didn’t wipe it well enough as I had just went to the bathroom. Walked in and pulled my pants down and there was blood, I sat on the toilet for about 15 minutes actively bleeding bright red blood, no clots. Its hard to estimate but I’d say maybe 2 tablespoons. Some dripped, some I wiped off me. I had a bit of pelvic pressure but very minimal and nothing I haven’t felt before. It seemed to let up and I really had no clue if this was an oncoming miscarriage or something else so I put a pad on and went to the ER.
At the ER I was seen pretty quickly and was lucky to have a triage nurse who works labor and delivery. Couldn’t find baby hr on Doppler but I wasn’t surprised as my uterus also tilts backwards. So I had an abdominal ultrasound. Baby is alive and well, measuring a few days ahead with a 170 HR. I even saw it move. The tech couldn’t find any reason for the bleeding, placenta is away from the cervix, no SCH which I thought might be the cause. My blood work was also within normal limits.
I haven’t had any more bleeding since the initial episode and I’m glad the baby is okay and nothing is obviously wrong but that leaves me in limbo wondering what could happen. I’ll try to update this if anything occurs or if I hopefully have a successful full term pregnancy. Anyone else have a similar experience?
