No Fetal Pole

Hey all.. looking for some reassurance from someone who has possibly been in a similar situation. I had my first prenatal appointment for baby #3 Friday. The nurse practitioner said based off of LMP, I was 8w3d. I told her I have longer cycles, and know I didn’t ovulate until later in August. She said we would wait for my first ultrasound and change weeks/EDD if needed. I also had a PAP done. No bleeding or spotting all day Friday. Saturday afternoon, 24+ hours later, I started having brown spotting. First just when a wiped. Then enough to get on a pad, not fill it, just get on it. By Sunday night, I was bleeding bright red. I went to the OB today, and they did a vaginal ultrasound. She said there is a gestational sac, yolk sac, but no fetal pole. This could be one of two things: I’m not as far along as they calculated. I thought I was only 6 weeks along, they were telling me 9 weeks (tomorrow). The dr said I’m just not far enough along yet, and the feral pole hasn’t developed yet. Or, I’m in the early stages of a miscarriage. I have no cramping, so that’s kinda reassuring. They drew blood today and sent it for a quantitative analysis. I go back Wednesday for the same blood draw, hopefully the numbers have doubled. Has anyone been in a similar situation and everything worked out okay? I feel gutted and helpless right now. There’s nothing I can do but wait. 😓
