I’ll be 36 weeks tomorrow, when does doctor actually check to see if I’m dilated?

They tried to check me at 36 weeks and I refused. It’s unnecessary that early unless you think you might be in labor. I waited until 40 weeks but it was my decision, not the providers

My doctor’s office starts checking at 40 weeks. I was literally checked at 39+6 because I had an appt that day and I was 1 cm. Went into labor on my due date and by the time we got to the hospital I was 5 cm.

Every place has their own set of rules/guidelines for this. You should just ask you care provider what their policy is. It’s normal to start checking at this point, but it’s also normal to not check at all.

When you are admitted for being in labor. 40 weeks is how long pregnancy is supposed to last. You have another month.
