Induced?

The doctors are talking about inducing me sometime between the 17th - 20th I was wondering what they do I'm a first time mom... I just wanna know so I know what I'm in for.

im getting induce today and im confused if im going to eat bfast/lunch today..is it necessary not to eat?

They started me on pitocin right away. They hooked me up to Ivs and the contractions started almost instantly. I'd suggest putting on (or taking off) what you want to wear before hand, so if you want to be in only a sports bra or totally nude do that before they hook you up. The contractions were strong and fast when they induced me so just relax and take one contraction at a time :)

I was induced with my son in 2012 at 39+1..... I was thinned and he was sitting low and I was 2 cm so they decided it would be fine! I went in at 530 but by the time I answered the questions got my IV and meds ordered it was almost 8am.... the interns came around 2 times between 8-12 to try to break my water but they couldn't get it! My Dr came in about 1215 and said I was about a 4 and broke my water and I got my epidural at 1245... when the checked me at 2 I was 8 cm and about 30 minutes later I was hurting pretty badly bit didn't say anything... Finally about 315 my nurse told me I looked like I was in pain and she said she was gonna check me and top my epidural off if I had time BUT I WAS 10 CM!! They told me not to push because they could already see his head and called my doc and by the time he got there from his office and got upstairs it was 345... I pushed 2 times and he was born at 349.... if they would have gotten my water broke the 1st 2 times or if I would have let the nurse check me sooner it would have been shorter but from actual contractions starting til he was born was 7.5 hours that day!! I learned my lesson and I'm being induced monday so I'm gonna make sure I let them know much sooner this time!!

I'm getting induced on Monday I'm very excited and nervous but very overjoyed. My cervix is unfavorable and not showing signs of dilation anytime soon. I wish you the best and hope for a healthy delivery for you and baby ☺️

I was induced yesterday and had my son this morning! I was started off eith cytotec because my cervix wasn't favorable- one dose was enough for me. Then they started me on pitocin. I didn't find it too bad... when they broke my water that evening was when it got bad. I eventually opted for an epidural and things progressed much more smoothly after that. I did end up pushing for a long time (nearly 4 1/2 hours) but it was well worth it, ending in a vaginal delivery with only one teeny urethral tear.

How far along are you? I'm getting induced tomorrow! Since I'm still at 1cm and thick (from my last appointment) they are doing the pill first and if that doesn't help they are giving me the pitocin.

I'm getting induced the morning of the 17th. I will go to the hospital the night of the 16th to get cervidil (a dilation medication) placed by my cervix and stay the night there. Dr said sometimes this will send you into labor. If not, they will start pitocin the morning of the 17th to begin contractions. And, if all goes smoothly, hopefully have a baby a few hours after that! I think every doctor's procedures are different. Ask for details from yours!

I got a balloon put in to get me to 4cm and then oxytocin was started. It all started at about 8am, but 7pm I was 7cm and I was taken in for a c-section due to baby did not take well to the contractions with the oxytocin and then found out that it was due to his cord placement- his heart rate dropped during contractions. Every situation is different so just have an open mind :)
