miscarriage naturally or medication?

This is my 2nd miscarriage, the first time i ended up getting the medication to get it started. currently i’m going on 2 weeks of being told it was an abnormal pregnancy, no bleeding. so i’m debating on the medication again because the waiting for it to happen is really hard. has anyone felt the medication doesn’t get everything out right away? is having a miscarriage naturally safer? since this is my 2nd one i think i’m getting in my head. any advice would be great 🖤

I took the medication for both of mine and it worked well for me. They did give me pain medication for it though so I would ask your doctor for that as well. So sorry for your losses 💔

I had a miscarriage about 2 years ago and I had the option to do the pill or D&C. I was about 9 weeks but when I went to the hospital one time because I was feeling pain on my side (which I thought an ectopic pregnancy since I’ve had one before but nope it wasn’t) according to my personal calendar I was about 7 weeks when I went to the hospital so I should’ve been able to hear a heartbeat or seen the yolk sac but they didn’t see anything they told me to make and appointment with my OBGYN which I did but I had to wait a couple of weeks so the hospital was actually checking my HCG levels and they were going up and high too. I also had symptoms I felt super tired almost like I had the flu then one day I just bounced back to normal which I thought was weird I finally saw my OBGYN by this time I was 9 weeks and sure enough still no heartbeat which as a ex medical assistant I knew from the first time something was wrong but it was still painful to hear those words. Anyways she told me since I was healthy enough she thought the pill will get everything out and I really didn’t need the D&C she told me the D&C can cause issues down the road so me being young and not having any kids yet I went with the pill. It was the MOST painful thing I’ve ever been through honestly I’ve never been in labor but I thought I was literally in labor it was just a horrible experience but it worked and got everything out. If you do go with the pill just be prepared I know we’re all different and you might not have a bad experience but just be prepared. I’m sorry for your going through this. Wishing you the best 💕

Depends what they mean by “abnormal” 
If the fetus is gone but they are just waiting for your body to miscarry on its own, medication won’t hurt you. 
If the fetus is still alive but most likely going to die and you’re waiting for that to happen, then the risk is that it won’t work and it’ll end up with more issues then originally seen or that they were wrong about it being abnormal. 
Medications usually don’t have any negative side effects long term. D&C Or surgical procedures for miscarriages do increase your chances of infertility or more miscarriage later on.

I had a natural miscarriage at 13 weeks in July. I really didn't wanna take the meds. So I waited for it to happen by itself. It was awful but I think it would've been worse if I took the meds

I never took medication with any of my miscarriages. However they didn’t start until 3+ weeks after the baby stopped growing. Also my last miscarriage not everything came out so I had to have a d&c.

Medicated or naturally miscarriages are equally excruciating. I did find when I took the vaginal pill I had way more cramping then I did when I naturally miscarried.
