Are the motorists' actions justified?

Or

In the UK, there has been a month long (and still ongoing) problem with climate change activists protesting on public roads. Their movement is called 'Insulate Britain'.

A few examples of what they've been up to:

-Sitting in the middle of motorways (highways) blocking access whilst holding up banners causing miles long traffic jams

-Glueing themselves to the roads

-Blocking access to roundabouts and major junctions

There have been a few incidents where accidents have been caused due to drivers swerving to avoid them, emergency service vehicles have had to turn around and re-route, roads have been closed to avoid further injury, deliveries have been delayed and/or late.

The police have been trying to control the issue, with not much luck so motorists have been taking matters into their own hands by dragging them off the roads, getting into fights, threatening to run them over. Using physical force to get them off the road.

My poll question is if the actions of motorists are justified?

What would you do if you found yourself blocked by a protestor?
