How to take amazing bump selfies!

Tips to take more professional share-worthy bump selfies / photos!

#1 most important: Natural lighting, near a well lit window. Use the sun or shade for great photos! Using flash can be very unflattering.
Take the photo from the side at belly height. You can set your camera or phone on a timer, search for a timer app. Taking photos from arm height will not show the bump as well.
You do not have to pull up your shirt. Sometimes the bump is more noticeable with a shirt. Even better  ~ a striped shirt you always wear for bump selfies. Watch the stripes stretch!
it may be best to avoid bathrooms or dirty bedrooms, and mirrors. It's great to use a mirror if you think that is best, but do you really want people to see your bathroom or bedroom mess? It's a bit more personal than even your belly bump. At all cost please avoid public bathroom bump photos, it may make people just think of the level of germs behind you.  Consider setting up your phone / camera to take photos against a bright wall, or curtain for a silhouette look.
Placing your hand over the bump actually hides the bump so that you can not see exactly how big the bump is. Place your hands above if you want to show the bump during the first trimester.
Smile! Even if you are not looking at the camera or your belly.
Consider taking the photo in the same place each time, at the same camera height, to be able to really compare.
Use a cool app to add text, and do so sparingly in white or black, or simple tones. It is professional looking to not go crazy with color and hearts, even if that is your current personal style. It may not be your style forever and if that is the photo you keep/print, you may regret it later. Keep it simple and sweet!  We love: Rhonna designs app
