Fizzy drinks?!

Question

How does fizzy drinks affect the baby?
My boyfriend said something about fizzy drinks not being to good for the baby an I'm just wondering if anyone can answer this with the facts? TIA
This is my first pregnancy so I am very paranoid lol

Thank you everyone for your feedback, I'm very paranoid because people say do this do that don't do this bad it's hard to tell what I actually need to do to keep my baby healthy, I haven't passed the 15 week mark yet so I'm extra paranoid

Carbonated drinks aren't really good for you in general, pregnant or not, because they have so much sugar in them and are linked to so many health problems (with your teeth, bones, increased risk for cancer, etc.) but during pregnancy to have to be extra mindful of the caffeine. It's ok to have every once in a while. But if that's all you drink everyday  would make switch to something else.

I definatly will be cutting down on fizzy drinks I seem to be really enjoying strawberry water and also wanting it lol so I guess that's not such a bad craving!

Does he mean like soda? It's not ideal because of sugar. Most sodas don't have enough caffeine per serving to put you above the standard recommended daily limit for pregnancy. If I want soda, I drink zevia  ginger ale because it's made with stevia, because I like zero calorie soda but I generally like to stay away from aspartame.
I drink plain carbonated water all the time and it is not bad for you.
But honestly, you do you. It's not like you're drinking vodka. A soda is not going to harm your baby. Don't let people scare you
