Dating someone new

Samantha

Hi all, I’m single rn and I’ve been dating around for the last year using apps and I’m probably gonna get set up on some blind dates in the next few months and I was curious whether in y’all’s experience it’s better to talk a lot over text/phone before a first date (if you’ve never really met the person) or talk a little bit and leave a lot of the get to know you stuff for the irl date? I’ve tried both approaches in the last few years and I’m torn between whether the way things progressed in each situation were due to the people or how we started out. I sometimes feel like texting people a bunch before a date can get dry, but that might just be the people I was seeing. I’m starting to pursue only serious or potentially serious relationships because casual dating and hookup culture has burned me and I would love advice for how to make sure I start off on the right foot.
