Had an appointment with my thyroid doctor today. He gave me news that at the moment I can not breastfeed while taking Propylthiouracil (ptu) or Methimazole, for hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease. (I take the lowest dose)

I just feel like I have already failed, because I can not feed my baby with my body. I feel like I will miss out on that bonding time 🥺

-My question is has anyone ever breastfed while taking either of these?

-Should I bring it up to the pediatrician?

-Should I get a second opinion?
