Boyfriend lied

Okay so a month or so ago my boyfriend invited me to meet all his friends a couple hours away at this renaissance fair. Then a couple weeks later talk of his ex (bc he’s friends with her twin) going came up, but her bf didn’t want her going. Then her and her bf broke up so she was going to go. Then my bf suddenly started saying “if you don’t want to go you don’t have to” “we don’t have to go” and all this stuff. Then he told me if i didn’t want to go he would stay at his brothers instead of an air bnb with everybody else. But i had explained i would still go. But for some reason he came up in his head that i wasn’t going. It essentially felt like i was uninvited. Well he ended up going after we talked about it. But instead of telling me that his brother never responded and that he was staying at the air bnb with everyone, he just didn’t say anything to me until i asked. I love this dude immensely but why did he lie to me?

And please don’t be like “omg girl he cheating”. Bc i don’t need your negativity. Cheating isn’t always the answer.
