Just for fun - how did you tell your partner you were pregnant??

I'm due for AF tomorrow and planning on testing Tuesday - fingers crossed this is my month 🤞🏻❤ with my first it was unexpected and he was with me when I tested as we were still in high school. Fast forward 4 years we are married now and have been trying for over a year and a half for baby 2. Our first pregnancy was a little stressful and sharing the moment was still sweet but tough. This time will be different since we've been waiting so long! I want to surprise him and make it a really fun, memorable moment between us but for the life of me I can't come up with anything yet! For the longest time i wouldn't think about these things because they would make the negative tests feel even heavier. But for some reason I'm in the mood to come up with some ideas - just in case! How did you tell them if you are already pregnant? Did you care about making it a surprise? Or did you just tell them straight out?? Any fun ideas?

Pregnant with our 6th and unplanned baby. I sat next to him on the bed. It was his 32nd birthday. “Hey babe, remember how I mentioned being able to smell everything..? Well it’s because I’m pregnant.” I didn’t hear a word in response for two days 🥴😭.

We had been trying for 14 months at this point. I was waiting for my period so could get an xray done to start infertility testing. I tested the day I was supposed to get AF and when I got my positive I didn't believe it. I worked the next day so I was thinking of how to tell my husband all day. I decided to get a onesie and some fabric markers and write "you are going to be a daddy" on the onesie. I also found some valentine day boxes they had just put out so I grabbed one to put his onesie in and tape the test to the lid. I told him I found something at work that I really liked for him and let's go to dinner that night. (I was sure he would be on to me but since it was a couple weeks before our dating anniversary I guess he thought it was an early anniversary present) fast forward we are at the restaurant and we've eaten our food and are about to pay. I put the box on the table and ask if he wants to open it. He looks at the onesie for a couple seconds then it clicks and he says "really?!". He was so excited. We had been trying for so long! This time around it wasn't so theatrical. I tested the day before my AF and I got a negative test. I started bleeding so I chalked it up to a failure that month. My husband was already upset about the housing market( we were looking for our first house) and a potential new job they weren't calling him back on. He straight up told me there was no point to hope because things don't work out nicely for us like other people. Well I went to work the next day and noticed my bleeding stopped. I decided I would test again if it didn't come back by the end of my shift. Well I get home with my test and rush to the bathroom (he was with our baby girl in the next room) I tested and there was my positive. I snuck the onesie I gave him the first time around from our room and quickly scrawled again at the end. I went to the living room and laid the onesie and the test on the table and said "so don't have hope, huh? Things don't work out for us, do they?" Needless to say, he was very surprised. Soon after that he got a callback on his job and we won a bidding war on a house we really wanted.

So for our first we on a whim decided to try and got pregnant the first month trying. I ran into the bedroom at 6:30 am the morning I got a positive screaming “Do you see a line?!” 🤣 Our next pregnancy ended in a miscarriage but I just walked out of the bathroom with the test in my hand and said something along the lines of “Your super sperm did it again.” With our rainbow baby I made a really cute sign in the bathroom with the positive tests. And then this baby, the unplanned one, I told him about when he got off work crying 🙃 Mine aren’t really creative but they sure are funny!

I didn’t really plan on surprising him, but it was a pleasant surprise for both of us! I track my cycle and he is usually pretty spot on with when my period should be here. It was about a week late and I was just waiting to see if maybe I had a long luteal phase this month, but he was like “you’re late you’re likely pregnant, I think you are” so he bought me a test and we both found out together.

Told him the noght before i thought i was pregnant because i was getting sicker( thougtht we had covid). Im vaccinated for covid but since the second shot my period was messed up so couldnt go by that because i was 3 weeks late for my period in august and i got pregnant in august. He said well cross that bridge when we get there( have three kids). Next day amazon came with my tests and as soon as they came i tan in the bathroom and took the test, sure enough it said and still says pregnant. I walked downstairs and handed him the test and said we crossed the bridge.

Our first pregnancy together, I put together a little gift bag with my positive tests, a pacifier, the book “dude you’re gonna be a dad” and a hand written letter telling him how excited I was to be carrying his child and what I was looking forward to in our journey as parents together.  
Second pregnancy together was unplanned and not the most welcome news.  I handed him the positive digital and just went into the other room to let him process.

My husbands new phone was delivered while he was at work so i opened the box and put the pregnancy test in it and taped it back up so you couldnt tell it had been opened yet. So when he got home he went to open the box for his new phone and was surprised by the pregnancy test.  The other time i was pregnant i told him i got him tacos (which i did) and he went in the fridge to get them and i put the pregnancy test sitting right next to the tacos 🤣

Lol, honestly ... This is my husband's 3rd but the only one where he got to be fully involved with, BUT We were making plans to go on a trip with friends and family next Feb and just had supper with my brother in law to discuss it...and then we went to Costco and as we were walking in I was like "hey, you know we have to cancel that trip eh?" And he was like "why" and I was like "cause I took a test and got a super faint line but pretty sure we are pregnant 🤷" and he was like "hmmmm, ok. We will take another test tomorrow"
Lol, super romantic 🤣
BUT we did make the announcement super exciting for the kids... So I mean... That's what matters.

I was out of town and we had been trying for months by that point. He knew I was testing that day because I always tested around 11/12 dpo lol. I just sent him a photo of the test and we freaked out together over the phone 😂 but I couldn’t lie to him to wait until i got home that would’ve been cruel, and I was too far away for a surprise. Not the most romantic but a good memory regardless and I have the texts saved now too
