If Covid vaccine is approved for 5-11 year olds will you get your child vaccinated?

This is not a debate, I am not thing to start anything. I am genuinely curious what other parents are considering.

Nope. Still too early in the trial periods for my comfort level. Adults consenting to it is different, they have the capability to understand risks & weigh pros & cons. Kids those ages do not. To each their own & id never shame someone for having a different opinion than I do, but that’s just my view on it.

No. As long as my children are healthy, I will skip this vaccine until there is substantial, long-term data. Every single child that has gotten Covid that I know has been absolutely fine. I’m an elementary teacher, and many of our students have had it this year. If my children had an underlying condition or their immune systems were compromised, I’d consider it after speaking to their doctor.

I’m booking an appointment with my pediatrician the first Friday it’s available for my 5 year old. That way he has the weekend to recover from any symptoms and won’t have to miss school.

I had very few side effects for my shot beyond the sore arm and slight fatigue. My husband had a stronger reaction with flu like symptoms for 48 hours. I planning for Friday just in case but hopeful he won’t experience anything too bad! ☺️

Good news is they are finding excellent antibody response in this age group with significantly less reactogenicity than with the 12 and up group! Obviously still do the weekend thing, it’s super smart but shouldn’t be too bad at all.
