Anyone a Realtor?

Plz only answer if you are one.. I wanted to know what was your reasons for getting your realtor license? Was it worth it? Do you still do it as a main source of income? I know one or two bt they don’t practice cz they said its not worth it. I didn’t know if that mattered due to the area. I’m in Indiana and I don’t think I’d get my license here seems like small sales and I want big commissions so I was thinking Illinois since I’m only an hour from Chicago. Of course I have small business pursuits bt in the mean time I wanted something that would help fund that and pay bills. I make decent money now bt I have big goals.

I’m not a realtor but I know plenty of people who are, you obviously need a side hustle as well because unfortunately it’s not dependable money, it’s not constant flow weekly that will keep your family afloat. A lot of times deals don’t go through after you wasted a ton of time with these people and months, and unfortunately there is a lot of waste of time with no income coming in. One of my realtors, she actually has three jobs, she’s a realtor, she owns a cleaning business with her mother, and she’s a waitress at a restaurant. It’s a side job unless you live in LA or Florida or something like that, or New Jersey, anywhere that Popping with real estate. And you have to realize that it takes sometimes several months to close a deal, can you go several months without an income, obviously not. My realtor that I work with on a daily basis, he is a minister, his wife works, he works, aside from being a realtor. We just had a deal fall through, it happens. It was supposed to be somebody who claimed that they had $100,000 to put down, or $80,000, but when you looked on the paperwork, from the bank statements the money wasn’t in the account, he was full of shit. Had another one who once the inspection happened, they realize that house was underwater, with so much damage that it wasn’t worth it. And the other side I wanted to sell it as is. Nobody wants a house that the roof needs to be repaired the electrical is leaking you name it. Another waste of time. They wanted the house because it came with so much storage and property that they could’ve built on. But after the inspection they realize it wasn’t happening because the other side I didn’t want to give a massive credit or reduce the price￼￼￼. I am self-employed myself, we do multiple things because not everything is in season all year long, obviously tax season is mostly only a few months, we do everything, immigration, mortgages, taxes, problem-solving, translation services, Family Court, criminal court, you name it if I don’t do it myself, I have a lawyer who works with me or a realtor on my mortgage broker etc. it’s a one stop shop, we’ve even been planning weddings and funerals, organizing and putting things together is what we do, problem-solving is our job. And the business wouldn’t work if we only did one thing. Because right now it’s a sellers market, if you’re in New Jersey, Florida, or any other places that New Yorkers are leaving to go to, it’s a bidding war, houses are going for 50,000 over the asking price but the issue is if the house doesn’t appraise for that amount, you are responsible for covering the difference. And that’s where the other issue comes in if they don’t have 50 grand laying around, they got to come up with it somehow otherwise you lose the deal. Or after the inspection you have issues, and they don’t want to negotiate it’s not a business that you can only have a nothing else. Unless you have $1 million sales, and you’re getting those commissions like in Los Angeles or Calabasas realtor to the stars type of situation, it’s not the kind of business that is the only thing you can do unfortunately. We aren’t realtors, but we go with the realtor we translate for the clients we handle all the paperwork we do everything. Any problems that arise, whether letters need to be written, raising their credit scores, getting the work number for verification of employment, we do it all. We have an infrastructure. But unfortunately you need to have multiple jobs to be a realtor keep that in mind. And it needs to be in a popping area. It’s all about location, when you buy a home, when you buy a business, etc.￼
