Is it normal not to trust your partner with your first baby

My partner and I are having our first baby in March 2022, I have had plenty of experience with children and newborns from my experience working in a crèche and from my niece. My partner has no experience other than babysitting once or twice, we got into a conversation about a weekend away I have booked next year for my cousins wedding it’s 2 days long and the baby will be 2 months old I brought up that he was taking her for a day and then she was going to stay with my friend and her godmother for the other day as she asked me could she take her. I feel like it’s important to mention that we don’t live together he lives with his parents as do I my family is pretty good but they will also be at the wedding whereas his family his dad is a severe alcoholic and I don’t feel comfortable with him drinking around the baby and holding the baby while severely intoxicated and he usually always is as he drinks from he wakes up till he goes to bed and the dads girlfriend that lives with them argues a lot with the dad and often leave the house so that would be his only help if he was struggling and I wouldn’t be in the country to help out if he needed.
