Almost 2 weeks ago my boyfriend and I got into a fight and he got physical with me when I tried to leave. He hit me several times as well as had his knee on my head for a bit. After he hit me, I grabbed some needle nose pliers and shook them at him telling me not to hit me again. He stopped. I was getting the kids ready and out the door when he called the police saying that I threatened him with the pliers and was kidnapping our children.

I waited outside for the police to come and told them my story, then they got his story. They arrested him for vandalism and obstruction of property under family violence.

I didn’t want to press charges at the time, I just wanted to get out safely.

We are now in a different state, staying with family and I’ve had time to think about it. I want to press charges now and will go about doing that as soon as I can. But I confirmed today that I’m pregnant.

Will his charges be worse since I am pregnant even if he didn’t know for sure at the time? I want to throw the book at him, so to speak. He needs to be charged with everything he’s done so hopefully he won’t do it to anyone else.
