Is this illegal?

So I have a job in retail. It’s a franchise store. When I first started they told me to clock in manually and using the computer. I always got opening shift so I never had issues… I’ll explain why.

So they have a big sheet in the break room where we write our hours manually. So if I get a 6 hour shift…I’ll put 10-4pm and include my 30 min break and total hours. So it would be 5.5 hours for that. Then we go to the computer and clock in digitally.

I’ve been doing closing shift for the past 3 weeks. The store closes at 8pm. And after closing I have to Mop the store, take out trash, and vacuum carpet. I’m out by 8:22ish….I just realized I’m not getting paid those 22 minutes.

I asked my manager “so on the chart do i put 8:22?” He said “no put the time you’re scheduled for” i clock you out of the register when I close…

But he clocks out when he’s doing counting the register which is like 8:10 and I’m still mopping ????
