do you stay faithful in the talking stage?

i’ve been talking to this guy for a few months now (we do have history 2 years ago) we slept together and we’re kind of dating, well we’re now back doing that again and i’m being faithful not talking to anyone else, but he is, should i be still remaining faithful? im just so scared of getting my heart broken again 
(single mum of a 3 year old)

Maybe I'm old, or maybe it's a US vs Europe kind of thing but I can't figure out what this whole "talking stage" nonsense is and why does it take months 🤷🏻‍♀️
For me, it's always been:
1. You meet someone, you're both interested
2. You go on a few dates (ergo, you're dating)
3. You either like each other well enough to start a relationship or not. 
Simple. No idiotic "talking stages" (how is it "talking" anyway if it involves sex???)
It took me a while to figure it out but if a guy jerks you around for ages without committing then he's simply not that into you and you should cut him loose. When a guy who actually cares comes around he'll do anything and everything to make sure you're his and his only.

I would ask him where u all stand and just see what he says. Different ppl have different expectations. That way u are not hurt if he decides to date or sleep with someone else while you’re being committed based off feelings etc. Not saying he’d do it. I always ask point blank bc I like to know or I at least Voice my expectations and he can disagree but I can decide from there if I want to stay or leave.

To me if you know he’s talking to someone else then it feels like just FWB IMO. You should talk to him and figure out what he wants and what you want and see if it aligns.

A few months is a long time. 
You need to sit down and communicate with him about where the relationship is going and what you expect of each other. You really should have had this conversation already.
