Banning books is one thing but to feel the need to go as far as burning them is wrong. Are they gonna burn Fahrenheit 451 too so students can't realize what is happening. Banning books in general is wrong but to physically destroy them is wasteful amd insane. Where I grew up I would have loved for book to be donated amd I am sure there are plenty of places in Virginia or surrounding areas that would gladly take these books instead of burning them. Adults restricting information and access to literature is wrong and dangerous, but the comments from these Virginia school board members are scary. These are the people who are responsible for educating and opening the minds of students. No educator should fear books this much...if they do they should not be an educator.
