Depending on the motives, yes. I was a chronic cheater. I had a void inside my self that no one could fill and I'd seek out ANYONE to help fill it but no one could. That void was created through a childhood of abuse of all sorts, an alcoholic abusive father and a mentally ill undiagnosed and untreated codependent mother. I craved positive attention, love and affection but no one could give me the level of it that I felt I needed. So I'd cheat looking for my "fix" in anyone that I could find. I still loved the person I was with (not every partner, just two that I fell in love with before my husband) but I didn't stop doing it. It was a horrible life for everyone involved. I was REALLY fucked up. I was a horrible human being and I'm fully aware of that now. It's totally fine to hate on me, I hate who I was back then too. It was disgusting behavior and no one deserves that sort of treatment, ESPECIALLY from someone that loves them. I should have sought out therapy back then but I didn't. I have done therapy for a decade now and it's been a real life changer. I now know where my "need" to cheat stemmed from and I can control it although those urges have yet to subside. I go to Alanon meetings to deal with the deep lifelong traumas of being a grown child of an alcoholic and do intense therapy sessions to help with the traumas my mother has caused as well. It's all helping me heal and be a better version of myself. I haven't cheated on my husband although the start of our relationship was while I was with someone else. My husband is aware of it now although he didn't know the full situation back then. He doesn't use my past against me and he trusts me fully which I plan to never break.

There is actually loving someone....and then loving what the person does for you or how they make you feel. So a person may claim they love you, but it is simply a beneficiery feeling vs actually loving and caring for the person. If you actually care about someone, you care for their well-being, safety, security, happiness...none of which imcludes cheating.

If it was a one time things, I'd say its possible they still love you and just made a huge mistake. Now they'd still be trash and the relationship would be tough, but it would be possible for them to still love you.
But if they CONSTANTLY cheat or even do it just more than once, NO, there's no way they actually love you. They may love having you around, they may love the way you make them feel at times, they may love things you do for them, they may love knowing that they can keep cheating and you're still there, they DO NOT LOVE YOU though. They're total garbage and you need to put them in the dumpster where they belong.

Nah… not constantly. I do believe people can make really fucked up decisions one time. They’re curious or very immature and selfish. It can happen. You can still love someone and hurt them. But when you ask for forgiveness and say sorry, you’re saying you’re going to do everything you can to make sure it doesn’t happen again. And if you really care about that person, you do just that. So if they CONSTANTLY hurt you and cheat on you; they might think they’re in love but they’re not. Cause when you love someone, the last thing you want to do, is hurt them.

If they have a true sex addiction, possibly yes.  However, if a person says they love you and know that if they cheated it would hurt you and still did it…then no.
