Big baby?

Has anyone been told their baby is measuring larger than their age but is smaller than estimated when born? How accurate are the ultrasound measurements?

Not that accurate in my experience. My son was measuring in the 90 something centile and I was induced because of it. He was actually on the 50th centile when born. With daughter I refused growth scans so they measured my bump. Again, measuring way above average. She was actually around the 10th centile and is small for her age. 
I'm in the UK though. Actually found out after my son's birth that our guidelines (NICE) advise that having a suspected big baby is no reason to induce (unless there are other risk factors). Hope that helps.

They told me my son was going to be 10 pounds he came out 6 pounds 5 oz at full term . So was off with my son 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was told my baby was roughly going to be 9lbs. He was 7lbs 2½oz. Measurements aren't always accurate

I believe scans can differ by 3lb, but I could be wrong. In general unless you have GD or other medical conditions, your body won't make a baby too big to birth vaginally. I presume you'll be monitored closely and able to talk to medical professionals about the liklihood of early induction or c-sections.
I was told to expect a small baby, around 6lb. She came out 8lb 1oz 😂 but also she was born at 41+1.
