Listen to midwife or leaflet??
So I'm 38 weeks pregnant, scheduled c section is next week and I've been taking blood pressure medication, what Google says it does is act as some sort of blocker to slow down my heart rate and lower my blood pressure, both have been too high in this pregnancy so I've been prescribed these pills a couple weeks ago and was told I'd need to carry on taking them for a little while after the birth of my baby.
So I was with the midwife today and discussing feeding, I told her I'm going with formula because the information leaflet on medication states that it's safe during pregnancy under the supervision of a doctor (I'm monitored at the hospital twice a week not with midwife) but its not recommended while breastfeeding as it passes through the breast milk, I don't want to risk messing with my baby's blood pressure, midwife tells me it's fine, I can breastfeed because it's unlikely it will affect baby. I would love to breastfeed as it didn't work out well with my first but I feel like it's an unnecessary risk when there's the option of formula? What do ya'll think?
