Has anyone moved their toddler to a floor bed/toddler bed yet?

If so, how did you know they were ready? Any tips on transitioning? Any set backs? Thinking of moving my little to a toddler bed before #2 gets here!

No and not planning on it unless he starts trying to escape! Baby #2 is due any day so we’ll make the transition once I’m through the newborn phase. I didn’t want to make too many big changes before baby came and we did potty training in October, so the toddler bed can wait.

We converted her crib maybe at 18 months or so? She did maybe the first night and after she never got off again. We did add a bed bumper from Amazon.

We did in October as baby #2 is due Jan 2 and we thought it better to get the transition over with before she got here. That way it also wouldn’t look like baby took her crib (if she’d even think that lol) we talked lots about it leading up to the change. She helped us pick out bedding for fun. She also picked out a few stuffies that she could keep in the bed with her. Other than that it’s just the dresser in her room for now. We put drawer locks on and found some outlet cord covers on Amazon. As much as I don’t like it we put one of those door knob covers on so she can’t get out. But her room is at the top of like 15 stairs so it was the lesser of two evils. She did really good. She goes to daycare 5 days a week so wasn’t sure how nap on the weekends would go. We had one rough one (the very first one) where she took an hour and a half to fall asleep but that was it.

We moved our daughter to a toddler bed (crib conversion) over the summer. It lasted maybe a month? She kept crawling out and sleeping on the floor. She’s since been moved to a twin mattress on the floor. She loves it. We’ve had no problems

Does she try to come out of the crib or her bed? We converted my daughters crib to a toddler bed and I had to put the nursery chair there to guard her from coming out of the bed because she would refuse to sleep and would just want to come out of the bed and it was so stressful
