Anyone else have gestational diabetes diagnosis ? 🥺🤔

Hi just got diagnosed with GD and it’s been hard to be okay with it my mom and family members have diabetes I told myself I would get this and none of them are supportive,hubby family is supportive. Needing some ladies that understand me with this diagnosis. 🥺 also I’m worried that I won’t be able to give birth naturally this is my first baby a boy and I’m 26 years old. Has anyone had GD before? Due in February 2022

I got diagnosed a couple weeks ago. They said I didn’t pass my one hour but they never had me do the three hour test. Which I thought was weird. They just have me checking my blood every day and managing what I eat. It’s pretty easier so far with a controlled diet.

Had it it with first. This is my second and did not pass my first test. My 3 hour test is tomorrow. I was supper depressed when I found out I had it with my first, turns out it was very manageable with diet just can’t give in to cravings. I was induced due to my babies SMALL size and I did have her naturally and even without pain meds. It feels big now but it’ll feel like such a small thing once you’re baby is here! Also, I took donuts with me to the hospital and it was the first thing I ate after she was born! Take something with you that you can’t wait to eat!

My doctors made me get induced a few days before I was due because I had GD. Baby wasn’t huge-8 pounds. I wish I had been able to deliver when my body was ready. I ended up having an infection because my water broke way before I was dilated because of being induced. Then when I tried to push, baby’s heart rate was dropping, so if turned into an emergency c-section. I’ll always wonder how the birth would’ve been if I hadn’t been induced.

I have it, 31 weeks and due Feb 1. I had it with my first and was induced around 38w4d due to baby being big. She was born 8lbs 12oz via c section. Reason for c section was unknown other than they accidentally broke my water with my first cervical check and then started pitcocin. So I laboured overnight but by morning I wasn't progressing so I got the epidural to sleep. Slept and still wasn't progressing so they did a c section as my water had broken so long before that and baby was kind of up and down with heart beat. That being said my mom also had it and had all three of us kids vaginally. So it really depends. The testing and insulin sucks, but I just try to walk more, hydrate, and when I do have a treat I space it out between meals and walk or move as much as I can. Goodluck, I'm sure it'll all be okay !

I have GD for the second time. There's nothing we do to cause it. It's our hormones and our placentas. Don't let anyone make you feel bad, they are just uneducated. It's really not the end of the world. You may have to adjust how you eat a little and the blood sugar checks do tend to get old, but you and baby will most likely be just fine! I have not had to have a c section yet. My OB told me the only reason they would recommend one is if baby was measuring 10+lbs at my final growth ultrasound. Be gentle with yourself.

Had with all three pregnancies. Only had c section due to breach babies otherwise it would have been natural birth. GDM is not the end of the world just watch what you eat going forward and you will be fine.

Hi, just got the call today, I wasn’t told I have gestational diabetes but I was told my sugar is high🙄 and they are putting in an order for a testing machine at the pharmacy and to wait for a call from the hospital to schedule an appointment to be told how to eat and how to test. I don’t see my dr for another 2 weeks so I just been trying to do my own research to ease my mind cause having to be induced or have a c section was my first thought, but after reading a lot of stories of women who have had it still went all the way to their due dates and had healthy babies I felt better, just have to keep it under control.
