Menstrual Cup?

Interested in trying menstrual cups. What kind do you like? Any advice, tips, ticks?

I made the switch 5 years ago and absolutely love it. I recommend getting a black one because they stain. Pretty much any cup should be fine! Just be patient and remember that it can take a bit of a learning curve. I think by my third time putting it in I was a pro.

Best decision I ever made was switching from tampons to a cup. Reduced my cramps significantly, only have to change every 12 hours, less leaks, less waste, reduced the amount of days on my period… I could go on and on. It takes about 3 months to get used to, but so worth it!!! Go to https://putacupinit.com to figure out what cup best suits you based off of your anatomy. I hated divacup and almost gave up. Saalt soft cup worked well for me. I also suggest buying period panties as “back up” while you are learning how to use them/which cup or disc works best for you,

I have the Flex brand menstrual discs (disposable) and cup (reusable). I first tried out Diva, but I had a really hard time with removal because of the stem.
Of the two, I prefer the Flex Discs because I find them easier to use and more convenient when going out of the house. If I have to remove it in a public restroom, I can just toss it in the trash and insert a new one. I don’t have to worry about sinks or washes with a reusable. 
The thing I like most about the Flex Cup is that it’s SUPER easy to remove. It has a ring so you can grip it easily with one fingertip, and pulling the stem will automatically break the seal. It’s also black so it doesn’t stain, and I really like its discreet little black bag.

Diva cup is the only one I’ve tried. I love it. Not going back to tampons. It does take some getting used to in finding the best way to insert and remove, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a game changer. No more buying tampons or praying you have another one hiding in the bottom of your purse. I have had no problems with mine.

Ok ladies! I’m using my cup for the first time. I don’t think I have it in right. I put it in but I don’t think it’s opened all the way and sealed. How do you get it to open all the way?? I tried what the directions said and then tried to twist it but it doesn’t really move. It’s kind of hurting. Idk if it’s just cramps or if it’s the actual cup. I don’t really have cramps too bad so I’m thinking it might be the cup. Help please 😁

I got the 2 pack saalt brand off of Amazon for about $50. They last up to 10 years so SWEET deal. Saalt is the perfect softness/firmness for me. I've had bad experiences with Diva. Got the size 2 after having 2 babies, and that fcker sucked right up to my cervix! I was in pain for about 12 hours before gravity finally started to help bring it down enough for me to break the suction with my fingers. It was awful. 
Anywho, I haven't had any issues with the Saalt doing that. And they come in 2 sizes. Bigger size for heavier days, smaller size for lighter days. 
I feel like I ought to warm you though, if you are using an IUD, you do need to be extra careful. Like I said, I never had any issues with discomfort when inserting or removing. Yet it still tugged on my IUD just right and am now 5 months pregnant. 😜

I have tried Diva cups and Saalt Cups and I absolutely looooved them. I used Diva cups prior to my deployment and didn’t think I’d have a way to clean/boil it so I stopped. Then once I was stateside, I went to get another one but they were sold out, so I tried the Saalt brand and could not give them enough praise!!! Easy to use and I’ve never had any issues with irritation or leaking with either brands. Even on my heavy days, I could go 10 hours without having the change it. (I could have gone the full 12, but honestly my curiosity would get the best of me.) Additionally, if you’re someone who is highly active, you do not have to worry about slippage/leakage/any of the “-ages” because that sucker is in there, IN THERE. For me personally I used to get tampon cramps? (Idk if that’s a thing, but I felt it! Lol) So I tried pads and could NOOOOT stand the gush and plllloooof of blood with every sneeze and step I’d take. Nor would I have the time or place to go change my tampons/pads at work. The cups resolved all of these issues for me. I cannot give them enough praise. I highly recommend to anyone curious to try ‘em out.
