Homeless to not homeless to confused

So for the last 4 months my two children and I have been homeless. We were living with the kids dad (it’s a complicated situation atm) but he has been living with his mum while the kids and I moved around. I applied for over 130 places and on Friday got a 2 bedroom unit for my children and I to live in for at least 3 months. The real estate agent is taking a chance on me and I don’t want to let her down.

Unfortunately, on Friday, a friend of the kids dad messaged me about a 3 bedroom house that he was breaking the lease for in January and wondered if we wanted it. The kids dad wanted us to have it but I worked my ass off to get the unit and he did nothing.

He never helped me find a house and now he’s upset with me because of the situation. I tried and tried to get a place and was rejected constantly and all he did was bring me down by saying stuff like “We’d have one by now.” And he never attended open homes or even looked. He didn’t even bother to get his ID stuff together (birth certificate, photo ID etc).

I feel bad now because I do want to be a family again but I also want some good rental history behind me as well so that I stand a better chance.

I’ve turned around to him and said he should move into the rental place but he’s just gone all annoyed at me.

I just want to show that I can do this and I am doing it for my kids. That’s all I’ve done is what I feel is best.

Am I in the wrong here?

Cause he’s making me feel like I am…..
