As my boss was looking over payroll before sending it to the accountant, he just laughed. I asked him what’s so funny? He said “the guys just barley work 40 hours or exactly at 40, they just can’t ever work more.” It took me off guard because he shamed them for not working 40 plus hours. Like it’s normal for people to only work 40 hours not 60 like you!? It actually kind of upset me and irritated me. I get you want to make money since you’re a small business but employees have lives outside of work.
