Newborn + toddler question

This is just a logistics question.

I have a 27 month old and a 2 month old.

What do you do with the toddler while you’re getting the newborn down for a nap? I can’t have the toddler in the room with me because she’s SO NOISY.

But the nursery is upstairs and the toddler plays downstairs. I can leave the toddler alone for a minute or two but don’t like leaving her for the 10 or so minutes it takes to get the newborn asleep and into the crib, especially since the white noise machine makes it hard to hear what she’s doing.

I’ve been turning the tv on for the toddler since that keeps her attention, but it’s not my fave solution at all.

What do y’all do?
