Crushing on my ex

So about 2 years ago i broke up with my ex, but we had a few late night talks and we stayed friends. I have first period with him because of our elective so i still see him everyday, and every few months I like them again. One of my friends started liking them recently and I helped her as well as I could but when she confessed to him, he said he was too busy for a relationship right now. I dont think shes gonna go for him anyone bc she got rejected plus she has other crushes she says she likes more. Im still pretty close with my ex, we dont talk often but its always nice when we do. I was there to help when they figured out he was omni and I was there again when he was figuring out what pronouns he wanted to use. I know that he loves hugs and studying old tech shit, I love that he’s shit at video games and isn’t always the smartest person but gets straight a’s and knows random facts of almost anything. The only reason I broke up with him was because we never hung out outside of school and we didn’t call often, but I think if we gave it another shot it would be different. I know he likes my friend at least a little bit but he also said hes trying not to lead her on, were gonna call tomorrow bc its been a bit. Any advice?
