Lazy days?

Do babies have lazy days in the womb? I was panicking so bad yesterday because I had decreased fetal movement. He usually kicks so much and yesterday, there was no kicks, probably just like 1 or 2, there was movement tho. Today this morning he started kicking away and that eased my anxiety. Is it normal?

My baby sometimes has lazier days and a nurse at my NST said that can be normal just like people. I just keep close attention on those days. Even on those days baby should do 10 movements in 2 hours abs for me I feel her move a little in the am, afternoon and pm. I do kick counts twice a day sometimes I will do an extra count on slower days. But if there is drastic change in movement it’s better to get checked and be fine

There are days that you can be busy and maybe not even notice. But, like your doctor said, at this point you should be able to do kick counts. I have a kick count app on my phone and do it once a day, usually about 30 minutes after a snack or meal. If they don’t get to 10 movements (can be anything - a roll, twist, kick, bump) in 2 hours, take a little break, drink something sugary, and try again. Keep an eye on baby!

They shouldn’t change the amount they move, but the type of movement will change. Baby will eventually get more cramped and be unable to do the huge kicks and punches, but you should still feel movement regularly. That’s why kick counts are so important!
