Oops I stole the neighbors cat đ±
About 8 months ago our across the street neighbors bought the cutest black kitten that comes over to our house daily to play with our dog. Recently the cat stays over at our house more often than theirs. Iâm totally fine with it she doesnât come inside I sometimes I feed her because Iâm a sucker and she begs. They donât let her inside so sheâs strictly outdoors.
A month ago this poor kitty has had a really really bad open gushing wound on its leg that Iâve pointed out to the neighbors who own her. Itâs bad but itâs clear they werenât going to do anything about it shes had it for over a month now and itâs not healing. Last week I decided to take it upon myself to take her to the vet. I couldnât take it anymore it was breaking my heart.
The vet unknown to me stitches her up and tells me not to let her outside for a few days. Damn I thought the vet was just going to give her antibiotics. So I cleared out a unused room in my house and sheâs been staying there for a few days with all intentions of me releasing her back outside after she heals.
Well now the neighbors have came over asking about her and now I totally feel like Iâve stolen their cat and itâs awkward. I totally should have told them but i didnât think this was going to be a long term thing and I didnât want to come across as crazy. Honestly I had thought they stopped really caring about her! I wasnât home when they came over my husband was and he explained the situation. But I definitely feel like I should say something because this was poor judgement. Such a silly thing to have neighborhood drama over I just couldnât watch her suffer anymore. Any advice on what my crazy ass should do to calm my neighbors and save myself from appearing like a pet stealer?!
