TTC after IUD removal

So we are hoping to start TTC baby #2 around April or may. I had an IUD placed after my son was born and it’s the first one I’ve ever had. With my first I never did the ovulation tests or track my temperature really but this time I’m wanting to stay on top of it and really track it. My periods have been back to regular for a few months now (took awhile after my first baby/IUD). I plan to start doing ovulation tests around February before I get off birth control. Has anyone had experience tracking ovulation after an IUD removal and a recent pregnancy? My son is almost 16 months now.
