A mouse made a nest in my trunk to have babies and idk what to do!

So my husband said to make a little house out of a coffee can to let her go in and then trap her in that with the babies. Is this a good idea? I have a terrarium I can put them in until their old enough to be released because the babies are so small! They’re hanging onto her and they have some fur but their eyes aren’t open. I’m kind of freaking out about this because I could’ve just gotten her out no problem but then I seen the babies! I guess it’s a field mouse, we live in Alabama and it rained a lot yesterday and it’s super cold today so she thought a nest in our trunk would be perfect
