OBGYN or Fertility specialist?

I have been on clomid for a few months now and no luck. I am wondering if I should stay with my OBGYN or try seeing a fertility specialist? What are your thoughts? And does insurance cover anything with a fertility doc?

Definitely reproductive endocrinologist. They are SOOO much more knowledgeable about all aspects of fertility. And know the details that not every obgyn would pick up on. Plus their goal is to get you pregnant if that's your goal. So they don't drag their feet the way I feel like my obgyn did. In July, my obgyn said see if anything happens and if not come back in January (so next month!). I decided to get a second opinion with an RE because I knew something was going on. Turns out I was right. And we wouldn't get pregnant on our own. We have since done two iui cycles and are mid cycle of our first ivf cycle. So I totally recommend an RE!!

Yes, I've never tried Clomid or anything yes, but I recommend a specialist! They are sooo easier to speak to and understanding than my expirence with an obgyn.

I was in the same boat before my husband was deployed. My obgyn didn't mind giving me the clomid but they eventually wanted me to go to a specialist so they could keep a better eye on what the clomid was and wasn't doing. I would definitely try the specialist. My insurance covers for me to go and see them and talk about things but I don't think it covers the clomid. Baby dust!
