Husband Christmas vent
Christmas eve my husband works, I'm off on leave because our 19 month old has Covid and so do I now (I'm vaccinated). I called him at work when he was about to leave telling him I was short of breath, light headed and felt like I was going to pass out. Once he got home I was feeling better and my oxygen was 95% so on to wrapping presents. He was great bringing me gifts and wrapping paper so I could take it easy. But as the evening goes on I notice he's getting drunk, again.

I've been asking him for YEARS to drink less or just stop and he'll make half assed promises like "I'll stop drinking during the week" or "I'll only have 5 drinks" (I said 3, but compromised). It will last for approximately a week, maybe two and he's right back to heavy drinking. So, he does drinking when I point out he's drunk and starts complaining the tired. At this point I've still got a few gifts to wrap and the stockings to do. I mention how I asked him to help wrap presents for years and he always refused until he wore me down and I stopped asking. He said "I'll wrap presents if you want me to, but you're not going to like it." Which is obviously not a real offer, I tell him it's fine Asked him if he could go downstairs and look for the stockings, "I'll never find them down there." So he just goes to bed when I lay out toddler down to sleep.

I get back up to wrap but my son wakes up coughing and gagging, then pukes. I ask my husband to turn on the light, he does and goes right back to sleep. So I clean the vomit, I give him medicine, get him back to sleep, go find stockings, finish wrapping, fill the stockings and then I go to bed.
I tell him how pissed I am this morning, talk about how much I had to do on my own and how I should be nominated for some sort of award (not really, just driving my point to the husband). Then he tells me "You'll get your reward in the shower" because we mentioned taking a shower together.

He also spent half the day complaining HE'S tired and asking if he could nap 😡
Ok, rant over. Thanks for sticking with me if you made it this far.
