Photos & video during labor?

Has anyone hired a labor and delivery photographer/videographer? And for those who havnt, who do you have taking photos? I always wonder who takes these photos in the delivery room.. does the hospital provide someone or is a family member in the room taking the photos? 1st baby..

Depends on the hospital and Covid. My hospital didn’t provide an L&D photographer but usually provides a newborn photographer (not currently due to Covid). I didn’t want pictures during but I’m married to a photographer so he took professional pictures immediately after.

Ask the hospital. No pictures or video were allowed during pushing unless prior written approval was given for the privacy of the staff. As soon as both my children were born, pictures were taken of me and the babies. With my daughter (pre-COVID) my mom took pictures until my husband was able to do so. With my son, it was just me and my husband so a nurse took pictures for us as well as my husband.

I can only have 1 person in the hospital due to Covid. And that person has to have a negative Covid result within 3 days or be fully vaccinated.

I wanted to film my birth, the two midwives I had said they wouldn't mind but the actual hospital didn't allow it so they said that photos aren't allowed either but they did it for me anyways whilst I was pushing 😅

Our doula took some pictures. I didn’t think I would want them but you can see the emotion in the pictures it is pretty incredible
